María has worked with clients such as National Geographic, Inter-American Development Bank and Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods. She was born and raised in Oaxaca, Mexico. She graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de México UNAM in Mexico City with a BA in English Language and Literature, and she specialized in translation.  She is fluent in Spanish and English. As a professional, she is hired for written and simultaneous translation by international institutions and organizations. She also publishes her own writing in local and international media. 

 

In her decade of experience working as a translator, writer and interpreter, she has had the opportunity to collaborate with a great number of renowned institutions, filmmakers, chefs, photographers, journalists, activists, and writers.
